Peter Lee Veach Sr.

Peter Lee Veach Sr., 87, of Clinton Corners, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, with his family by his side in the home that he, his wife, and children built 50 years ago.
Born January 18, 1935, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Arthur Hiram Veach and Hazel Melius Veach.
Most recently, Peter owned and operated Peter Veach Realty in the Town of Clinton. Earlier in his working years, he worked for Dean Trucking and IBM, both in Poughkeepsie.
When not working, Mr. Veach's hobbies and interests were varied. He was a carpenter, hunter, fisherman, gardener, sugar maker, jammery, and artist.
Mr. Veach also enjoyed Camp Sonkippog, especially with his brother Art.
He proudly served in the United States Army right after the Korean War from 1953 to 1956.
On October 11, 1958, in St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, he married Joan R. Becker. Mrs. Veach survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Veach and Colleen J. Veach Gresch (Donald Momme); grandchildren, Anthony L. Gresch, Benhardt W. Gresch IV (Ashley Leonard), Peter Lee Veach III (Jenna Tucker); and great grandchildren, Zoey E. Gresch, and Skylar M. and Autumn R. Veach.
He is also survived by his sister, Giovanna Veach Beyer, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Peter L. Veach Jr.; son-in-law, Benhardt W. Gresch III; sisters, Shirley Veach Kelsey, and Virginia Veach Dangerfield; and brothers, Arthur Veach III, and Carson Veach.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at 11 AM, Monday, September 19th at Schultzville Cemetery, 1192 Centre Road, Town of Clinton.
