Peter Zampedri Obituary

Visit the Spear-Miller Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

Peter M. Zampedri was born on October 5, 1941, at home in Fairfield, Connecticut, to Peter V. and Rose (Del Buono) Zampedri. He was the only son among his siblings, growing up with his sisters Angie Arnold (Bob), his twin sister Shirley Lumley (Jack), and Marie George (Elmer).

In 1962, Peter married the love of his life, Marcia (Nemeskay) Zampedri, in Fairfield. He built a long career in the auto body industry, running the body shop at Ted Miller Buick before later working independently. Alongside Marcia, he also ran Breezy Meadows Farms, where they bred and showed quarter horses. Of the many horses they raised, Peter had a special fondness for one named Marilyn Monroe.

Peter loved his home, especially summers by the pool, and always had a soft spot for his dogs. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, from weekend getaways to Cape Cod and Ocean City, Maryland, to Sunday drives with Marcia, his sister Shirley, and Aunt Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia, and their sons, Peter and David Zampedri. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Christina (Christopher Hudzina), Jessica, and Nicholas, as well as great-grandchildren JR and Leo Dorenbosch. He will be remembered with love by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Spear Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in a private graveside service.
