It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Edward King, a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend. Born on September 18, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Ernest and late Dorothy (nee Brown) King. Phil's life journey came to a close on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, service, and warmth that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Phil was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and his commitment to service shaped much of his life. After completing high school, he embarked on a successful career in fire protection sales, where he worked with Protection 2000. His dedication to his profession mirrored his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Phil was known not only for his expertise but for the genuine care he infused into every interaction, always going the extra mile for his clients and colleagues alike.
Phil was a man of many passions. He found joy in the serene moments spent golfing on sunlit courses and fishing by tranquil waters. Those who knew him often recall his jovial laughter and the warmth he radiated during gatherings with friends and family. He believed in the extraordinary, often sharing tales of ghosts that reflected his imaginative spirit and wonder for the unseen. Phil had a remarkable ability to bring people together, creating a vibrant and loving community around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years to Candice "Candy" (nee Strauss) King. Devoted father of John (Paula) Shoemaker, Steven (Heather) Shoemaker and Brian (Lisa) Shoemaker. Loving grandfather of Jack, Macy, Morgan, Cielle, Avery, Haley, Kyle and Vance. Dear brother of Chuck (Jenny) King, Paul (Sandy) King and the late Frank King. Brother-in-law of Tim (Cathy) Strauss, Chris Strauss and the late Taz Strauss. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Philip's life will take place on Sunday (February 16) at Knights of Columbus, 3144 Blue Rock Rd., from 5:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. with military honors at 6:30 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor his remarkable journey. We will share stories, reminisce about the joy he brought into our lives, and reflect on the many ways he left an indelible mark on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
As we remember Phil The Stud King, let us carry forward his legacy of love and service, cherishing the moments that connected us and holding close the memories that will forever resonate in our hearts. Special condolences may be expressed at www.frederickfh.com
