Philip Daniel Voge, son of Arthur and Phyllis (Worthington) Voge, was born November 24, 1955 in Huntington Park, CA. At 15 years old, after his dad's passing, he visited a family farm in Iowa. After falling in love with the farm life, he then moved to Iowa and lived with a cousin. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton School, Blairsburg, Iowa in 1973. He was married to Beth Foster in 1986. The couple later divorced. On September 17th, 2005, Phil was united in marriage to Alberta Marie Jones Brown at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Webster City. He started at Webster City Custom Meats in 1978 working his way up to sales and marketing, and eventually co-owner, retiring in 2023.

He is survived by his spouse of 20 years, Alberta; stepchildren, Lisa (Brent) VanDeer of Webster City, Kevin Brown (Ashley McCubbin) of Huxley; step-grandchildren, Lydia and Megan VanDeer, Lyla and Kirk Brown, Hayden Hilton; brother, Erik Voge of CA along with extended family in California. Phil's bonus-parents are Wayne and Marlene Anderson of Williams.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherri.

He was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames where he served as a church elder. Phil thrived as an active board member on many boards and foundations, including Van Diest Medical Center Foundation, Career Ag Academy Board, Webster City Rotary Club, Relay for Life Committee, MARS Foundation, WC Pride Committee and Jail Ministry. He also served as mayor and city council member of Webster City.

A lover of music, he played the guitar and sang with "The Disappointments" at local gatherings and covered "I've Been Everywhere" with the best. Phil thrived by actively engaging in his community, his friends and his family. With a servant's heart, a keen wit, and a gracious spirit, Phil never knew a stranger.... only friends he hadn't met yet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Career Ag Academy, Lutheran Family Services or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames.
