"When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone."
- Liverpool FC's Anthem
Philip Conor Brooks, 41, became the coolest angel in heaven on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Born in Louisville, KY on January 15, 1984, to Paul and Kathryn Mary (Shaughnessy) Brooks, Philip brought color, laughter, and music to everyone lucky enough to know him. He made lifelong friends while attending Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic School, Saint Xavier High School, and the University of Kentucky School of Architecture.
Philip was a remarkably gifted artist-fearless with any medium and endlessly creative. A natural athlete (albeit a lefty), he could pick up any ball and jump into the game with ease. But it was on stage where he truly came alive, especially with his electric bass in hand, performing with his beloved bandmates in Hundred Dollar Handshake.
Philip was many wonderful things to many people: a devoted son, brother, and friend, and the uncle who hung the moon for his nieces and nephews. But above all, he was Evalyn's husband.
Philip married Evalyn Stephanie (Tirikos) Brooks on May 22,2021. Together, they built a life overflowing with love, laughter, and a kind of joy that lit up every room they entered. Evalyn brought out the very best in Philip-her warmth, strength, and unwavering support made their years together deeply meaningful. Whether sharing music, travel, large family gatherings, or simple quiet moments, theirs was a love that lifted everyone around them.
Philip leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife, Evalyn Stephanie Brooks; his parents, Paul and Kathryn Mary Brooks; his sister Maggie Brooks; his brother Paul Brooks (Alexa); his cherished nephews Riley, Phoenix, Stefano, and Leo; his beloved nieces Finley, Bailey, Noelle, and Ava and Evalyn's parents and siblings-as well as countless friends who became chosen family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23rd from 4:00–8:00 PM at Highlands Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church in Anchorage, KY, followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Philip's extraordinary life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund established by the family to help ease the burden of unexpected expenses and to honor Philip's vibrant legacy: https://everloved.com/life-of/philip-brooks/

My condolences to both Phil and Evalyn's family following the passing of a truly special individual. I always enjoyed my time talking about Liverpool FC with Phil and over time we bonded over our shared love for this soccer club. I admired Phil's work ethic and the creative talents that he possessed. Gone far too soon, may Phil's memory be eternal.
