Philip Bussone Jr., 54, of Ipswich died on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Kaplan Hospice House in
Danvers after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband to Sharon
(Harrison) Bussone with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of Lillian (Vardalakos) Bussone of Salem and the late Philip
Bussone Sr. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School.
He went on to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston where he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in mechanical engineering, graduating top ten in his class and earning the
Departmental Award for his senior year engineering project.
Phil worked at Goddard Technologies Inc. for 24 years, ultimately becoming a partner in 2005.
At Goddard, he oversaw and performed product design and prototype development. He worked
on hundreds of products during his career, many of which found their way into the hands of
everyday consumers and the medical devices marketplace. His work impacted the lives of
people worldwide.
Phil enjoyed the outdoors and walks with his dog Joey. Phil was into health and fitness and
maintained a diligent workout routine. He was a fan of the Patriots, Bruins, and professional
soccer. He followed auto racing on a regular basis. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his
family. Phil had taken up the sport of disc golf in the past few years and played regularly. Phil
enjoyed travelling and dining out.
In addition to his wife and mother, Phil is survived by his son Tyler P. Bussone, daughter Lindsey J. Bussone, brother James Bussone and his wife, Deidre, nieces, nephews, and close relatives.
In lieu of funeral services, the Bussone Family will host a Celebration of Life for Phil on
Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 12:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. at the Danversport Yacht Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Attire is casual. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on September 7, 2021, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Attire is casual. Contributions may be made in Phil's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org
