Mr. Philip Lamar Byrd, age 46, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2025, in Wrightsville, Georgia.
Philip was born on August 20, 1979, in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late Ronald Sammie Byrd, Sr. and Carolyn Walston Byrd.
Philip's life was marked by both struggle and love. He faced many challenges and spent much of his life in and out of trouble, but through it all, his heart remained with his family. Those who knew him best knew that he loved deeply and fiercely. His family was his reason, his pride, and his greatest joy. Despite his hardships, Philip never lost his compassion for others and was known for helping anyone he could when given the chance.
He was a loving son, husband, father, and brother, and a man whose life, though imperfect, was filled with genuine care for those he loved. Philip was a true believer, remembered for his kind heart and the love he carried for his family in spite of everything life placed before him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him home.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Walston Byrd; his wife, Linda Winfree Byrd; his children, Robert Rowe, Hannah Music, Philip Gage Byrd, Jacob L. Music, Dewey Sidney Byrd, II, and Sally Rose Byrd; his grandchildren, Freya Joann Lynn Brown and one other beloved grandchild; his brothers, Ron Byrd and Chris Byrd; his sister, Lisa Nelms; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
