Philip Dorsainvil, age 68, answered the Lord's call on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Sumter County, Florida. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on April 28, 1957, Philip began his life's journey with deep roots in faith, family, and perseverance. He later immigrated to the United States, where he landed in New York City to build a new chapter filled with service, dedication, and love.

Mr. Dorsainvil proudly served his country as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy for 23 years, retiring in 2011. His service reflected his strength, discipline, and unwavering commitment, qualities that shaped his life and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. After retirement, he continued his dedication to service, working with the State of Richmond, Virginia, as a correctional officer for two years, followed by serving as an Intelligence Specialist with NSG in Washington, D.C., from 2013 to 2017.

Philip carried Haiti in his heart everywhere he went. His Haitian heritage shaped his resilience, his warmth, and his deep sense of community. Guided by faith, he lived a life of service, humility, and generosity, always ready to extend a hand, share a smile, or offer encouragement.

His spirit embodied both the strength of his homeland and the hope of the life he built in America.

He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Wanda Weatherspoon, and his three children: Cassandra Dorsainvil (Spencer), Reggie Dorsainvil (Rianka), and Philip C. Dorsainvil (Jenny). He leaves a treasured legacy through his five grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Jaceon Hughes, Russon Lee, Brayden Dorsainvil, Remington Dorsainvil, Elliana Dorsainvil, and Romina Dorsainvil.

Philip is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Anthony Lafontant, Nicole Vivens, Claire-Therese Morency, Jacques Thomas, Marie-Claude Domerson, and Maxime Auguste. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sister Armande Auguste, who was called home during the tragic earthquake in Haiti in 2011, and his father, Leflo Auguste.

His family and friends will remember him as a man of resilience, quiet strength, and devotion. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memory of his love, sacrifice, and service will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

If your name is not listed, please know that Philip's family deeply values the love, support, and memories shared with him throughout his life.
