Philip E. Gotham Jr.

Philip E. Gotham, Jr., age 79, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in his home surrounded by family after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Erie on May 2, 1946, son of the late Philip E. Sr. and Patricia Gotham.

Phil was a 1964 graduate of East High School and a 1968 graduate of Thiel College. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Phil was an active member of South Harborcreek United Methodist Church and Koinonia of Erie County. He was employed at General Electric for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Phil enjoyed golfing and fishing and treasured spending time with his family. He also enjoyed going to the Brig Cigar Lounge and having cigars with his sons and grandsons.

Phil is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi "Penny" Gotham; three sons, Scott (Lynne), Sean (Tracy) and Christopher (Betsey) Gotham; two sisters, Pamela Gennuso (John) and Paulette DeAngelo (David); seven grandchildren, Katelynd Burlingame (Curtis), Megan Reed (Noah), Zachary Gotham (Rachel), Shannon Bowers (Jarrod), and Ethan, Patrick and Emma Gotham; one great-grandson, Wade Bowers; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a big thank you to the Hillman Cancer Center and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Phil.

Friends may call at the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church, on Saturday, March 14th, from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Service there at 11 am conducted by Rev. Tim Hoover.
