Philip C. Griffith, 86 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born on December 22, 1935 in Bristol, Virginia to the late O'Dale K. and Reba (Quillin) Griffith Sr.
He was a graduate from Marietta College with a BS Degree in Comprehensive Science. Philp later obtained his Masters Degree from Ohio University. He was an airplane pilot and an instructor.
Philip owned and operated Griffith Construction and also real estate. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and traveled the world with various ministries.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, M. Janet; sons, Philip C. (Susan) Griffith II of Pataskala, Ohio, O. Keith (Joyce) Griffith and Mark W. R. (Karen) Griffith Sr. all of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeremy Lindsey, Kristin (Andrew) Hupp, Eric (Sarah) Griffith, Reba (Justin) Will, M. William R. "Willie" (Mariah) Griffith Jr., Levi and Natalie Griffith, Philip C. "Carlos" Griffith III, and Christopher Griffith; great grandchildren, Lydia and Bella Hupp, and Anthony and Ian Griffith, and Vianna Mary Will; brother, O'Dale K. (Phyllis) Griffith Jr. of Mission Viejo, California; sister, Frances (Jim Bederka) Griffith of Milltown, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Griffith and his parents.
Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Nathan Loudon officiating. Friends may visit from 12-1:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday prior to he service.
The service will be live streamed on youtube listed under FirstPBC.org.
