Clarence E. Bope Jr., 80, of Lancaster, passed away on July 14, 2025 at the Pickering House. He was born to the late Clarance Sr. and Alice Mae Bope on June 18, 1945.
Clarence worked for many years at Anchor Hocking. He enjoyed pets, planting, nature, and loved his children greatly. He also had an extensive collection of clowns, inspired by Emmett Kelly Jr. and Red Skeleton.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Bope; children, Scott (Rosie) Bope and Misty (Paul) Goodyear; brother, Paul (Connie) Bope; sister, Mary (Greg) Stanton; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Riggan, Kaleb (Kailynn) Goodyear, Trystan Goodyear, Jayden Goodyear, Josephine Goodyear, Nickolus Goodyear, Corey (Brittney) Putman, Jennifer (Keith) Scott, and Ashley (Adam) Cordle; great grandchildren, Mark Putman, Gracie Scott, Andrew Scott, Zach Riggan, and Lincoln Goodyear; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty (Richard) Cotterman and Alice (Gary) Oiler; aunt, Helen Clark; niece, Sabrina Cotterman; and parents.
A funeral service officiated by Rev. Nathan Loudon will take place at 1 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service.
