Philip Henry "Phil" Grim Jr.

Philip Henry "Phil" Grim Jr., 93, of Winchester, VA, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at his home.

Phil was born January 13, 1932, son of the late Philip Grim Sr. and Edna Baker Grim. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Barbara Mae Thornton November 4, 1953. Before retirement, Phil worked at Abex for many years, then went on to open his own business; J & P Furniture. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where he was an usher for many years. He was a member of the local Moose Lodge, as well as an avid bowler at Northside Lanes in Winchester. He had a true passion for his favorite sport, golf.

He is survived by his children, Pamela S. Strawderman (Tony) of Winchester, Philip "Tom" Grim (Candy) of Stephens City, VA, Cynthia Ann Grim of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Along with his loving wife, Barbara, Phil was preceded in death by his sons, Dennis A. Grim, Charles H. Grim; and sister, Margorie Grim Journell.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 2, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Connor Grim officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
