Philip H. Hamil, 62, of Union City, Tennessee, died on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born Friday, September 16, 1960, in Hickman, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ethelbert "Skinny" Hamil and the late Mary Susie Jones Hamil. Mr. Hamil was a former Goodyear employee where he was a sheet metal fabricator. He was a devoted member of the First Pentecostal Church in Union City, Tennessee. The times Mr. Hamil treasured the most were spending time and making memories with his family.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, April 10, 2023, at First Pentecostal Church located at 2501 West Main Street in Union City, Tennessee. Funeral services for Mr. Hamil will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 10, 2023, also at the First Pentecostal Church. Officiating this service will be Senior Pastor Billy Uzzle and Pastor Dwayne Uzzle. Interment will follow in Salem Church Cemetery in Union City, Tennessee.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of forty years, Judy Elaine Turnbo Hamil of Union City, Tennessee; three sons, Ryan Hamil (Kayla) of Union City, Tennessee, Jon-Tyler Hamil (Jennifer) of Union City, Tennessee and Lequante Abbott (Rosemary) of Union City, Tennessee; one brother, Benjamin Guy Hamil (Debbie) of Tiptonville, Tennessee; one sister, Nadine Poole of North Carolina. He was "PaPa" to his four grandchildren, Layton Hamil, Jadilyn Hamil, Rylan Hamil, and Titus Hamil.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie Doughty, Donnie Hamil, Delbert Dameron, Pete Hamil and Warren Hamil.
Honoring Mr. Hamil as pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Aaron Baker, Brandon Uzzle, Jaron Baker, Clint Baker and Josh White. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Russom, John Dacus, Don Crum, Marty Shemwell, Dell Elliott and Randy White,
