Philip O. Hoffman

Philip O. Hoffman, of Eva, Alabama, passed away peacefully at the age of 76.

Born on October 2, 1948, in Downers Grove, Illinois. Phil, also known as Popi by his grandchildren, lived a life filled with music, motorcycles, and an immense love for his family and his pets.

In his early years, Phil worked as a telephone lineman for GTE, demonstrating both skill and dedication to his craft.

His passion for innovation, combined with his endless creativity, led him to become a business owner at HTV, where he pioneered the recording of videos for weddings and capturing memories for countless families. After working as a television news photographer, he opened his very own motorcycle store, where the phrase "Ride it like you stole it" became his theme for many years. After he retired, he devoted his time to restoring guitars and musical equipment, which combined his meticulous craftsmanship with his lifelong passion for music. He was an exceptional musician and shared his love of music with everyone around him. Phil's talent and joy for playing music left a lasting impression on everyone who heard him. Our hearts are full of these memories and we hold them close. His deep compassion extended not only to people but also to Mother Nature and all animals, except for snakes. He especially cherished his beloved animals that were part of his life over the years. Phil, affectionately known as "Flip" to many, lived in a multitude of cities. He finally found his place in Eva, Alabama, where he lived for almost 15 years.

Phil is survived by his two daughters, Christine Kerr and Traci Clark (Greg Clark); his grandchildren, Jacob Clark, Brandon Clark, Katie Kerr, Philip Kerr, Kyle Kerr, and many friends who will remember him for his kindness, quick wit, and charming personality.

A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Morgan County Humane Society or Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.
