Philip Edward Johannsen was born on November 21, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa to Clifford and Henrietta Johannsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clifford, and his twin sister, Nancy. Phil appreciated his god, Jehovah, and dedicated he's life to Him on October 11, 1959. He graduated from Central High School in Davenport, IA in 1966. After graduation, he began pursuing the full-time ministry for three years, until he was invited in 1969 to serve at Bethel in New York City. He served in various departments until he returned to Davenport in 1973. On September 21, 1974, Phil was united in marriage to his wife, Jean. They welcomed two sons, Philip Edward II and Joshua Lee. They resided in Davenport until 1993, at which time the family moved to Loveland, Colorado. The family later welcomed their daughters-in-law Susan and Joanna. Phil spent his life devoted to service to his god, Jehovah. He enjoyed many privileges of service by making himself available for whatever Jehovah asked of him. He touched the lives of many spiritual brothers and sisters throughout the years. Phil lived with the belief that he would be reunited with family and friends in the promised new world to come. (Revelation 21:4) One of his greatest joys was cooking huge dinners for his friends and family. He could be counted on to offer gourmet meals that included lots of laughter and conversations. He will have so much fun trying out new delicacies in the New World. Phil will be missed by his family and friends. But we will soon be reunited in paradise where no one will say "I am sick".
