Philip Leach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels - Waltham on Dec. 6, 2025.
Philip Paul Leach, 85, of Waltham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Waltham on September 6, 1940, Philip was the son of the late William P. Leach and Dorothy (McFayden) Leach. A lifelong resident of the community he loved, Phillip was known for his sharp mind, strong will, and generous heart.

Philip was an avid reader who enjoyed books of all kinds, and he possessed a remarkable intelligence that he shared readily with those around him. He especially enjoyed watching mob movies, "The Godfather" being his all-time favorite-and could often be found discussing storylines and characters with great enthusiasm. By trade, Phillip was a skilled painter, and he took pride in his work throughout his life.

What Philip treasured most were the people around him. He deeply loved his family, and his friends were truly an extension of that family. He leaves to cherish his memory a beloved sister, Janet Leach of Sudbury, Massachusetts; his dear friends William Aliseo and his partner Angela Coleman of Waltham, Anthony Ferrara of Waltham, Michael Smith of Waltham and numerous other dear friends, all of whom were more like family than friends.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather and celebrate Philip's life on Wednesday, December 10th. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at noon in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody Street, Waltham. Burial will follow at Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Parking attendants will be available.

Philip will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, warmth, and the love and laughter he shared so freely with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A special heartfelt thanks to the staff at Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Good Shepherd Hospice for their exceptional care and guidance while helping Phillip face his health challenges with strength and dignity.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are welcome.
