Philip Carroll Moore, 69, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Phil's career in sales took him throughout the Southeast, but Knoxville, TN is where he called home. Phil, along with his wife of 42 years, Melinda, knew Knoxville was where they wanted to plant roots. Phil's knack of never meeting a stranger earned him several professional awards and made him a natural at anything he did. He'd tell you his greatest accomplishment was his boys, Landon and Taylor. Phil was by Landon's side on the golf course since he was eight years old, hundreds of rounds played and too many memories to count. Phil's love of Knoxville equaled his love for the Vols. Any sport for that matter. He loved competition and experiencing it live. Taylor, being the youngest, typically got the extra ticket and they attended many football games throughout the SEC. In 2010, we saw a change in Phil, going from the father of two boys to the Granddaddy of a little girl, Haley Grace (Haley Gracie as he liked to call her). A few years later came her sister, Piper Anne. Haley and Piper were his cherry on top and they sure did know it!
Phil's life and career left him with friends from all walks of life. His friends were his family; always invited to Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, whatever. He was a good listener but never hesitated to give advice. Phil was thankful his boys and granddaughters lived so close, and the countless Sunday night dinners were the highlight of his week.
In addition to Melinda, his boys and granddaughters, Phil is survived by his sister, Pat Broadway and her husband Mike, Taylor's wife, Jenci, Landon's girlfriend, Elizabeth Laughlin, and host of dear friends.
Golf has always been a big part of Phil's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Scott Stallings Kids Play Free Junior Golf Initiative at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E3292&id=21
The Moore family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24 from 11am-1pm with a service at 1pm at Rose Funeral and Cremation - Mann's Bearden location.
