Philip James Perkins

Philip "Kid Ice" Perkins of Battle Creek, MI went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1969 to Lowell and Sandra Perkins.
Phil graduated from Springfield High School with the Class of 1987. He worked at DENSO Manufacturing from 1989-2009 and also at FireKeepers Casino and Tenneco, where he met the love of his life, Danette. Phil was currently employed with FedEx Express.
Phil's sense of humor was like no other. He loved to make everyone laugh and have a good time. He was an avid bowler with 15, 300's, and 8, 800's. Phil never hesitated to assist others with their bowling techniques and always wanted everyone to improve. He was also an excellent golfer with a hole in one to his name. If you ever wanted a great meal, Phil was the man to cook for you!
Phil is survived by his rock, best friend and wife, Danette; step-sons, Chris Reniger, Matthew Reniger; granddaughter, Natalie; mother, Sandra Perkins; siblings, Linda (Phil) Schlagenhauf, Eugene (Jan) Perkins, Deborah Kilpatrick, Rita Isaacs, Alan (Teresa) Perkins, Steve (Tammy) Perkins; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Perkins; sister, Valerie McCashin; and nephew, Philip Schlagenhauf.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm with the celebration of life service at 3:00 pm. A meal will be provided in the Baxter banquet hall following the service.
