Conway, SC – Philip Lee Perrey, age 95, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Spring Oak Conway,
Conway, SC
Philip was born July 4, 1929 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Raphael Edward and Ruth Mason (Busteed)
Perrey. Following high school in Fort Wayne, he graduated from the University of Nebraska where
he was a member of the ROTC rifle team.
Philip received his Naval Officers' commission in 1953 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for
11 years. His tours of duty included reconnaissance and mine-sweeping duties in the Arabian Sea
during the Korean conflict. Following his military service Phil operated several Radio Shack stores
and enjoyed everything "electronic". Phil and Faye loved to travel and attend local playhouse
productions.
Phillip was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Fairey "Faye" Beth (Shuler) Perrey; parents;
and brother, Raphael Eugene Perrey. He is survived by 6 nieces and nephews on the Perrey side
and 1 from the Shuler family.
A Catholic mass will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Catholic Church of St. James
the Younger, 1071 Academy Drive, Conway, SC 29526. Phil will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Island
Cemetery in Providence, South Carolina.
Memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice of Conway.
