Philip Pike Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunnichay Funeral Home - Elwood on Dec. 10, 2025.
Philip C. Pike, age 68, of Elwood passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Elwood Health & Living following an extended illness. He was born on January 26, 1957, in Elwood, Indiana, the son of Merle and Beth Ann (Redmon) Pike. Philip was a dedicated man, who served his community and country with distinction and honor. From his early years at Elwood Community High School to his service in the United States Navy, Philip's commitment to others was a common thread that wove through every chapter of his life.

After faithfully serving his country, Philip found his calling as a custodian at the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson, Indiana. His thoughtful nature and steadfast dedication made him an integral part of the church community. He was not merely a custodian but a guardian of the sacred space, ensuring that every corner of the church was as welcoming and peaceful as the congregants deserved. His humble demeanor and quiet diligence endeared him to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Philip is survived by his loving sisters, Sheryl (Mike) Moore, Carol Fite, and Kathy Harris, and his devoted brother, Doug (Phyllis) Pike; his Aunt Patricia Sigler; and several nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Beth Pike.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will follow at the K of P and IOOF Cemetery in Frankton. Visitation is from 12:00 pm to 1:00 PM prior to the service.

In liue of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Anderson First Church of the Nazarene, 2324 Jackson St., Anderson, IN 46016.

Each of us who knew and loved Philip have our own special memories of him. In memory of our compassionate and humble Philip, we encourage you to share your stories, photos, and heartfelt thoughts on his memorial page. In sharing, we keep his spirit alive, and remind ourselves that while he may no longer be with us physically, his influence continues to shape our lives.

Yesterday

Phil was a peach and we always loved his little chuckle and smile. Since he and us were usually always the last to leave church, we often would give him a ride home to his apartment. We will always cherish those times we had with him and our family. Picture is from mission trip he went on with church to Albuquerque New Mexico in 2001.
