Philip A. Ryan
Born August 2, 1943 – September 16, 2025
Philip A. Ryan, lovingly known as “Pops,” was born on August 2, 1943, to Gertrude Dahlgren and was later adopted into the Ryan family.
On May 31, 1963, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Julia Murray, in West Islip, New York. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, raising three children: Philip A. Ryan, Jr., Kerry Riggs, and Kelly Ryan, who preceded him in death. Pops’ greatest joy was his family, and he worked diligently to ensure they were always cared for and supported.
Philip enjoyed many passions throughout his life, including days spent on the golf course, neighborhood gatherings with friends, and cheering faithfully as a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. His successful career as a Marketing Executive afforded him the opportunity to travel the world and build lasting relationships.
He will be dearly missed by his children Philip A. Ryan and Kerry Riggs. His siblings, Michael Ryan and Leslie, his daughters-in-law, Kristine Tanzillo and Maria Ryan, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Jen (Matt) Fouth, Chris Riggs, Meagan (Damien) Johnson, Chris Riggs and his “bonus” grandchildren Jacob and Aly Bova, Katie Cotts and Brittany Ord. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Nathan Fouth and Emily Johnson, who will grow up hearing stories of their Pops’ love and laughter.
Philip’s life was marked by dedication, determination, resilience, and a deep love for his family. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, humor, and unwavering presence. Godspeed, Pops—you will be forever in our hearts.
