My sincere condolences to the Shaughnessy family. Phil was a delight to know and work with at Aetna for many years. His sense of humor, knowledge, and mentorship will always be fondly remembered.

We have lost a good friend--I hired Phil at The Aetna in 1955 and grew together opening new doors, forging new paths with computers making "things" happen. Phil was a terrific partner and all around good person. Love to"the kids", stay safe. be well and ENJOY.

I loved Phil's sense of humor. He was a great guy! He was on a steering committee for one of my big projects, and his incite was spot on.

Phil was the stereotypical "good man". He was fair, honest, and always listened to both sides of an argument. He was one of my favorite managers.

In the mid to late 70's I had the good fortune of being a Chief of Staff to Phil at Aetna. He was one of the most thoughtful people I had the opportunity to work with at Aetna. I was early in my career and couldn't have asked for a better mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Visiting daughter Linda and myself, I remember Phil climbing way up into an orange tree to pick fresh oranges at a friend's SoCal orchard, just because he could. He picked way more than we could possibly consume but he had a ton of fun doing it. It was written all over his face. I also remember him taking pictures of the golf course at the end of our road, in Altadena, CA, on a glorious, warm Christmas day so he could show his golfing buddies back in frigid Conn. what golfers do on Christmas Day in California, namely golf. He's with Barbara now and I trust they're very happy.
