Philip "Phil" Spada, age 88, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Lawrence.

Born in 1937, Phil was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Rose (Traina) Spada. A proud graduate of Methuen High School, Class of 1956, Phil distinguished himself as Captain of the baseball team and was later honored with induction into the Methuen High School Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, Phil proudly joined the US Army Reserves.

In 1959, Phil married the love of his life, Patricia (Gallant) Spada. Together they shared 39 years of marriage before her passing, building a family rooted in love, laughter, and devotion. Phil was the cherished father of David P. Spada and his wife Claudia, Darren Spada and his wife Kelley, and Ryan Spada and his wife Erica. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Abigayle, Julian, Christian, David D., and Deahna D., who brought him endless joy.

Phil is predeceased by his siblings Thomas Spada and Pamela DeLuca. He is survived by his significant other of 25 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Dooley, with whom he shared companionship, adventures, and countless happy memories.

A man deeply connected to his community, Phil was a member of the Sons of Italy and gave generously of his time coaching Methuen Little League and Pop Warner Football. He enjoyed traveling, summers at Salisbury Beach, and dancing, passions that reflected his zest for life. He also found camaraderie in bocci and bowling leagues, where his competitive spirit and good humor shone brightly.

Phil will be remembered for his devotion to family and his love of sports. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, both on and off the field.

Per the request of the family, all services held will be private.
