Phil's love ran deeper than words could ever express. A father who carried his children and grandchildren in his heart with every breath he took - whose greatest pride was his family.

Though our paths changed over time and life did not unfold in the way any of us once imagined, the bond of friendship remained. We continued to walk beside each other in a different way - still connected by history, children, and the quiet understanding that love can take many forms. His presence in our lives, even after roles shifted, was steady and real.

He faced struggles - more than many ever knew. Life challenged him, and his body challenged him, yet he kept moving with a resilient spirit. He carried both his pain and his hope with a kind of courage that deserves honoring. Even in moments of hardship, he found ways to show up, to care, to love.

I remember the man he truly was at his core: a father who was so proud of his sons Joe, Harley, Jaxon, and Tyler and who they have become; a grandfather who loved and was thankful for every day he was able to spend with his grandson Conner and Granddaughter Elsie; a friend whose loyalty endured.

He was a man who welcomed my husband as a friend. Phil and James' connection and friendship was because of Phil's big heart beneath all the other stuff. Those who truly knew Phil, knew his heart. A soul who tried, who fought, who gave what he could.

Now, may he rest in the peace that so often escaped him in this world.

May his burdens be lifted.

May his spirit be free.

And may those who loved him carry forward the warmest pieces of him-the laughter, the lessons, the compassion, the love.

His story doesn't end here; it continues in every heart he touched.

May he finally find the peace he sought, and may we remember him with gratitude, gentleness, and love.
