So sorry for your loss. I had Mr. Voskuil for a 6th grade teacher many moons ago. He was one of the greatest teachers of my lifetime. As a shy student, he really paid extra attention to my learning style and needs and helped me to come out of my shell. Rest in Peace.

When we moved to Appleton in '89, Mr. Voskuil was son's sixth grade teacher; a year later, he was our daughter's. He really made a difference for them with his kind and interesting ways; very thankful! Imagine our delight when my husband's rehab weeks this past April were spent across the hall and down a room from Mr. Voskuil! We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to thank him and have several meaningful visits with this wonderful Christian man! Even at the rehab, Mr. Voskuil was quite a storyteller, leader and friend. My husband said you had to get there early to find a seat at his lunch or dinner table ... People were just drawn to him; he always had a lot to offer. As someone once said: great teachers are legends ... God bless you!

So sorry to hear this. Mr. Voskuil was my 5th grade teacher in the 1970s. I still remember his smiling face. He was truly one of the best teachers I had. He was in the job for all of the right reasons. Making a difference in children's lives.

Phil Voskuil and his wife, Dixie were fixtures at Edison School for the many years our 4 girls were students there. They both accomplished what we hope all teachers will by giving our kids a solid foundation for success in life. We offer hugs all around for his grieving family.

We are so very sorry to learn of Phil's passing. We kept praying that this surgery would be successful and that he would be able to get around good again and sit by his pond. But it wasn't meant to be, God doesn't make mistakes. We will miss him always. He was a good friend and neighbor for over 50 years.
