Phillip Gordon Ames
Phillip Gordon Ames of Falls City, Oregon, passed away on February 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by both parents and his only sibling, Patricia Bowman.
Phillip was born on October 23, 1941, to William 'Bill' Ames and Katherine Ames in Wendling, Oregon. As the infant son of a logger, Phillip, and his older sister Patricia, would see a number of relocations before the Ames family settled in their final home in Falls City, Oregon.
Phillip attended Falls City Schools, graduating from Falls City High School in 1959. In the 1959 yearbook, Phillip was noted as both the 'loudest' and the 'wittiest'. Phillip had a great sense of humor.
Phillip suffered from a high fever early in childhood, requiring a lengthy time to fully recover, but he did. Phillip worked various jobs during his life, as his capabilities allowed. He loved machinery, especially logging equipment. As a result of that love for heavy equipment, Phillip recreated antique logging equipment miniature pieces, including old steam donkeys, yarders, and crawlers, etc.
He is home.
