Phillip Barlow Obituary
Phillip was born November 18, 1930 in Park Rapids to Edgar and Pearl (Ray) Barlow. He attended school through 12th grade in Baudette, MN. From 1950-1954 he served in the US Navy. On November 9, 1956 he was united in marriage to Mardell Yliniemi at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They resided in the Twin Cities where they raised their children, Brenda, Michael and Carolyn.
Phillip was a longtime transportation manager for the Red Owl Grocery Store Chain. He received a 2-year degree from the MN School of Business. Phillip enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and farming. He retired in 1994.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Mardell Barlow of Park Rapids; his children, Brenda (Paul) Yager of Cologne, MN, Michael Barlow of Park Rapids, and Carolyn Maves of Park Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Mark Maves, Scott (Cassandra) Maves, Lucas Maves, Sarah (Ross) Hellenbrand, Dana (Nick) Auman; 11 great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Owen, Lauren, Camden, Kaitlyn, Eli, Ryan, Tucker, Wyatt, Case, Bailey; a sister, Joyce (Carl) Guyn; a brother, Robert (Kay) Barlow; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Pearl Barlow; and a sister, Mary Moorman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Visitation is for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
