Phillip Cooper Bone

Mr. Phillip Cooper Bone, 83, of Rocky Mount, NC passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Galax Health and Rehab in Galax, VA. Mr. Bone was born in Nash County, NC on October 20, 1938 to the late Willie Raymond and Ethel Raper Bone. He was a retired postal clerk and was one of the youngest people to obtain Eagle Scout honors in the 1950's. He served in the United States Navy and was a Blue Nose crossing the Artic Circle during his commitment to the Navy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mickie O'Neal Bone; a daughter, Donna Lynn Sherrod; and a sister, Phyllis May.
He is survived by his son, Craig Bone and wife, Diane of Dugspur, VA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 beginning at 2pm at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC. Rev. Dan Hanshew will officiate.
