Phillip C. Boyd, 87, of
Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at NHC of Chattanooga, 2700 Glenwood Avenue in
Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Lovingly known as Phill, he had made his home in Chattanooga since 2005, moving here from Palmetto, Florida, and lived with his sister for the next 12 years. He was retired from Wellcraft Marine in Sarasota, Florida, where he worked for 37 years.
Phill was the eldest grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Stokes of Blakely, Georgia.
Phill was a kind, gentle, faithful, loving and generous brother. He was a major support of his mother and siblings since he was 16 years old. He never complained and rarely got angry. He was consistent and dependable. He had a fun personality and loved people. Phill loved to fish, fix things with his many tools and guarded his cherished books with loving care. He loved to learn.
Phill was a believer in Jesus Christ, and having put his faith in Him as his Savior, Phillip's residence is now in Heaven.
All the things he missed in this life he now has in abundance.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Stokes Boyd; father, Lindsey Boyd; and younger brother, Vernon Boyd.
Surviving relatives include sister, Genie Davis, of
Chattanooga, TN; aunt, Francis Stokes Smith; cousins and their families, Jeannie and Sonny Weeks, David and Deonda Smith of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Anna and Joe Prestridge of Gulf Breeze, Florida; cousins, Mitch, Robert and Greg Stokes of Oklahoma, and Shannon Stokes-Holt of Dothan, Alabama; cousin, Carolyn Beverly of Robertsdale, Alabama; uncle, Pete Odum of Blakely, Georgia; cousins, Tommy, Bill, Steve and Randy Odom.
He will be laid to rest in Blakely Cemetery in Blakely, Georgia, with the rest of his family.
He will be deeply missed. I love you, Phill, and I'll see you again.
