Phillip Jerry Capece, of Yorktown, Virgina, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Jerry was born on May 8, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Phillip and Evelyn Capece. He graduated from Union Area High school in the class of 1959. Jerry married in 1961 and had been blessed with five beautiful children, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Jerry was owner/operator of his two trucking companies prior to retirement.
He attended Coastal Community Church in Yorktown, VA.
His biggest joy was his family, and the time he spent with them, was truly cherished.
He was a Master plasterer and enjoyed remodeling and restoring homes. He was a "Jack of All Trades" who took pride in all that he accomplished and was always ready to help others.
He loved cooking, which was only second to enjoying it with family and friends. He took great pleasure in his vegetable garden and growing his own fruit trees. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding motor cycles and farming. Jerry was an enthusiastic and experienced firearms collector.
He is survived by his loving children, Robin Field, Tracy Annarumo (Michael), Valerie Shade, Vincent Capece (Jennifer), grandchildren, Anthony, Joshua, Nicole, Kristen, Chelsea, Shane, Ashley, Megan, Kayla, Zachery, Faith, Alex and Michelle and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ginger Lopeno and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Jerry Capece, Jr., his sister, Yvonne Plotts, his sister, Darlene Gray, his brother, Dexter Capece and his infant sister, Joan Marie.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 23rd, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Rd. Service will be conducted immediately following visitation at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Joseph Lahr of Cornerstone Community Church.
