Phillip Ernest "Erny" Childre

Erny Childre, 61, passed away to be with our Lord on January 29th, 2023. He was born in Reynolds, Georgia on September 16, 1961. He is survived by his son, Jackson Childre and daughter, Isabelle Childre both of Saint Augustine, Florida, his parents, Sylvia Swearingen Sams of Saint Augustine, Florida and Jimmy Childre Sr. of Milledgeville, Georgia, his brothers Jimmy Childre Jr., Bob Childre, J.J. Childre, Jason Childre, sisters, Charlotte Childre and Angel Childre. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lynda Childre Kuecker, his grandparents, Bob and Lynda Swearingen, Sr. and Ernest and Emeline Childre.

Erny graduated from Brentwood School in Sandersville and attended Georgia Southern University. He had a successful career with the family business, the Childre Automotive Dealerships. When Erny sold you a car, you had a friend for life.

He loved the lake and the ocean. He loved the outdoors and the sunshine. He loved music and sports. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He loved his family and his friends.

Erny will forever remain in the cherished memories of his beloved family and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Reynolds United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service. Flowers are gratefully accepted or those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.
