On Friday, March 14, 2025, God called Phillip Eugean Crockett, 62, home to a much deserving rest. We will forever remember his smile, his joy, and his dancing. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11 am at Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4 pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Phillip Eugean Crockett was born on October 1, 1962, in Lubbock, TX, the son of Walter Lee Crockett and Earl Dean Davis Crocket Garrett.
Phillip attended Ella Iles elementary, Struggs Middle, and Dunbar High Schools, graduating with the class of 1981. He also attended Texas Southern University and the American Commercial college.
Phillip possessed an outstanding personality that was long lasting, and a smile that would brighten your day! During his high school years, he was a part of the Mighty Dunbar Panther Band, where he played trumpet and served as Drum Major. He went on to pursue his education at Texas Southern , where he also participated with the band. Phillip loved music! Upon relocating to Lubbock, he attended ACC for medical coding. He worked at Lubbock General Hospital. Phillip also served in the food industry, working at “numerous” food places in the hub city of Lubbock.
Phillip had no biological children, but he had his god-children who were his nieces and nephews, LyAnn, Walter, and Kanesha, who he helped raise.
Phillip is preceded in death by his father Walter L. Crockettt, his paternal grandparents David and Estella Crockett.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories include, his loyal and devoted friend Earl Davis, his beloved mother Earl D. Garrett, five siblings Walter DeWayne Crockett, Ethel Denise Jones, Isis Latooya Crockett, Dexter Garrett, and WT Garrett, III, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
