Phillip William Crowder, 84, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday May 31, 2022 at White Oaks Assisted Living in Lawton.
He was born October 5, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Phillip A. Crowder and Lois (Twerdy) Crowder.
Phil received his Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. Over the years he was active and volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts, he was an assistant coach for Lawton JV Football. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion McGowan - Johnson Post 68, Paw Paw, where he was on the Color Guard and worked the Sunday legion breakfasts. Phil was also a member of VFW Post #4054 Marcellus, the Sons of the American Legion and the American Veterans.
Phil is survived by his step-brother, James (Sharron) Sternbergh of Kalamazoo, along with extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, June 29, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw paw. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with military honors.
