Phillip Dee Eckert, 64, of Ellerslie, GA died Monday, December 12, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside.
A memorial service will be held 5:00PM Friday, December 16,2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus Georgia 31907.
Phil was born October 22, 1958 in Bath, NY son of the late Janice Price. Phil had two great passions in life cooking and talking to people. His cooking passion led him to be a professional chef. He was the chef at the Big Eddie Club and the Harmony Club. His second passion of people skills, talking to people and telling stories steered him down his second career path of insurance agent/Agency Manager at Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance for 28 years. Phil had a variety of hobbies. He enjoyed working on rebuilding his 1940 Ford. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, RVer, and gardener. Phil never met a stranger and would stop what he was doing to help someone out!
Survivors include his wife, Kim Gacki Eckert of Ellerslie, GA; sister-in-law, Denise Gacki of Clinton Township, MI; a host of cousins and friends.
