Phillip Wayne "Phil" Fast, 71, died March 6, 2026, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1954, in Hutchinson, to E.S. "Bill" and Beulah Noel (Sturgeon) Fast.

Phil graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1973. He held many different jobs throughout the years, he worked as the maintenance man at the Hutchinson Zoo until his health no longer allowed him to continue working. Phil was a member of the Central Kansas Gun Club and in his younger days; Salt City Four Wheelers. He was an outdoorsman and loved being in nature while hunting and fishing. Phil was a competitive sporting clay shooter and won many awards and was nationally recognized for his performance. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding in his Jeep, motorcycle, and racing on the dirt track. Phil loved spending time with his family, especially while vacationing on trips to Colorado.

On January 27, 1978, Phil married the love of his life, Wilma L. Mohr, in Hutchinson.

Phil is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Wilma L. Fast; children, Chris Fast, Amy (Ryan) Raigoza, all of Hutchinson, Tim (Lindsay) Fast of Wellston, OK; bonus son, John (Katie) King of Wichita; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Rosa) Fast of Hutchinson and William "Bill" (Pamela) Fast of Buhler; and sister-in-law, Wilma A. Fast.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Britton "Britt" Rice; brothers, Robert Fast and Harold Fast; and sister, Mary Ann Fast.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Soul Winner's Mission Church, 334 East 6th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Ryan Raigoza and Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Phillip W. Fast Memorial Fund (to benefit organizations he supported), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Phillip W. Fast Memorial Fund, please make checks payable to Elliott Mortuary.
