Phillip Hale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on Jan. 23, 2026.
Phillip Martin Hale, age 78, passed away on January 22, 2026. He was born on July 19, 1947, in Augusta, Arkansas.
Phil was a longtime businessman and former President of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, where he applied his sharp mind, discipline, and dedication to the profession. He was a lifelong learner and could often be found reading a business book with a yellow highlighter in hand, always studying ways to improve and refine his work.
Phil enjoyed model trains and model airplanes, a hobby he shared with his son, Bryan, particularly through attending model airplane air shows together. He also loved to travel and was well known for his fondness of cigars - a pastime that became one of his more memorable traits.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall T. Hale and Martha Louise Hale.
Survivors include his son, Bryan Hale (Nicci); grandson, Ethan Hale; granddaughter, Lindsey Watkins (Kody Sams); great-granddaughter, April Sams; companion, Debbie Atchison; and sister, Marsha Arledge (Robert).
Phil will be remembered for his business acumen, his interests, and the distinct personality he brought to both his professional and personal life.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 2nd at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with a celebration of Phil's life immediately following at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
