Phillip Hass Obituary
Phillip Neal Hass of Duffield, VA. Born December 29, 1961, departed this life Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford H. and Sallie Mae Hass; his brothers, James Ferell, Dearl Lynn, Huey Shirell, and Adril Merill Hass; and his niece, Chandra (Hass) Perry.
Phil had a huge heart and loved his family and friends unconditionally. He never failed to tell you he loved you before hanging up the phone or leaving to go out the door. He loved life and had a free spirit.
He leaves behind his sons, Chad (Santana) Hass and Toby (Rachel) Hass; daughters, Sheena (Travis) Hass, Susan (Rusty) Qualls, and Grace Begley; his grandchildren, Tori, Daylin, Seth, Isacc, Dominic, Wesley, and Evelynn; sisters, Marcella (Hobert) Osborne and Rita (James) Perry; brothers, Earl (Ilene), Leon (Brenda), Gary (Linda), Benny (Kathy), and Denny (Donna) Hass; sister in-laws, Ann Hass, Pauline Hass, and Jean Hass; brother in-law and dear friends, Jim Carter, Mike and Rhonda Gilliam; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with bro. Mike Gilliam officiating.
Phil's wishes were to be cremated and spread at Red Hill Cemetery.
Phillip Neal Hass and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Phil just a couple of times, but he left a memorable impression for sure. So funny and definitely kind hearted. Prayers for the family and friends he left behind.
