Phillip Kitcho Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rhoney Funeral Home, Inc. - Sanborn on Nov. 14, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Phillip Kitcho, most known for his wildly inappropriate, sometimes offensive, sense of humor, yet unconditionally loving and compassionate soul, lost his battle with Brain Cancer on November 13th, 2025 under Hospice Care at his home in Cambria, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 17, 1966, Phil lived a life full of passion of helping others. Whether providing a home for the strayed teenagers, or covering the cost of the prescriptions for the elderly at the local pharmacy, Phil was always a selfless man.
Upon meeting Phil, you were assigned a nickname that would most certainly carry on indefinitely. You were never addressed by your birth name and most often during conversations, others would have to ask who he was referring to.
Phil enjoyed family vacations, hunting, fishing, "body building," martial arts, movies, retro tv, music, "game nights," and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
Phil is survived by the "loves" of his life; his wife Lisa Mettler Kitcho, daughter Annalysse Mettler Kitcho, and his granddaughter Annala Fisher. Although Phil only had one biological child, he was a "dad" to many of Annalyse's friends, including his foster "boy," Nathan Sidebottom.
Phil, being the youngest of nine children, is the "baby brother," although he would always say the "biggest and baddest." He is survived by brothers Mike (Linda) Kitcho, Gary (Janelle) Kitcho, James (Rose) Kitcho, and sisters Cathy (Ed) Luzak, Jana Keough, and Lori (Willie) Wilson, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Although most would call them in-laws, for 39 years, Phil was referred to as a son, brother, and uncle to and survived by MaMa (Sandy Mettler), and Pops (Frank Mettler), Debbie (Frank) Grant, Steve Mettler, Chris (Tom) Durow, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored him.
As Phil was a great friend to many, he had the best of friends whom he cherished every moment with; Frank Grant, Steve Huttenmaier, Kevin Repentine, and Dave Goffin. Phil often spoke of how grateful he was to have the best of friends whom he referred to as "brothers."
Phil was certainly loved by many, as he loved many himself. He may have lost this final battle with Brain Cancer, but not without leaving behind a legacy and lifetime of inappropriate jokes, nicknames, countless laughs, unconditional support and love, and so so many amazing memories.
Anxiously awaiting his arrival with open arms at the Gates of Heaven is his mother, Janet Kitcho (Sullivan), father George Kitcho, sisters Sheila Wolcott and Linda (Tony) Giannone, and his dogs, Suzie and Reese all of whom he loved so very much and missed terribly. Our only comfort is knowing that Phil is "home," free of any pain or suffering and in the arms of God and his loved ones.
His Family will present on Sunday, November 16th, from 1- 4 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Memorials may be made in his name to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
