Phillip Mello Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Funeral Home on Aug. 17, 2024.
The life of Phillip James Mello, 40, of Nashua, NH, was tragically cut short after a tragic traffic accident to which he succumbed to his injuries on August 12, 2024. He was born March 6, 1984, to parents Phillip A. Mello and Kim L. Lavallee in Nashua, NH. He was their first child and reminded his parents of his "Number 1" status often.
Phil was a generous man who found beauty in life's simple moments. He was a true free spirit, known for his generous heart and willingness to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Phil had a unique gift for making people laugh, and his infectious humor could always lighten the mood, no matter the circumstances. He enjoyed playing games like spades and Yahtzee, where his playful spirit would shine through, bringing joy to family and friends. He was very active and enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, basketball, swimming and sledding. When relaxing, he took in the sight of stars at night and loved listening to music.
Some of Phillip's fondest memories were from his childhood, particularly the times spent blueberry picking and on vacation in Outer Banks, North Carolina with his family. These moments in nature, surrounded by those he loved, remained a cherished part of his life.
Phillip is predeceased by his father Phillip A. Mello, paternal grandparent, George Mello, maternal grandparents William and Lucille Lavallee, uncles Mark Lavallee, Ricky Lavallee, and Todd M. Lavallee, aunts Carrie A. Lavallee, Doreen G. Lavallee, and niece Naveah L. Mello.
He is survived by his mother, Kim Lavallee and spouse Christopher Shaw, sisters Crystal Mello and Miranda Mello, stepmother Kimberly Mello, aunts Brenda L. Drouin and husband Gilbert, Bonnie L. Lavallee, Cary Coulombe, Robin Hardy and husband Tom, Theresa Kopka and husband Sam, uncles William R. Lavallee Jr., Randy E. Lavallee, Rodney S. Lavallee, Glen D. Lavallee, and Geroge Mello Jr., nieces and nephews Brianna, Savannah, Aiden, Saraya, Xian, Hannah, Serenity and Verity Rose, as well as many cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Phil's sister Crystal for loving your brother the way you did, and Miranda too. Thank you to stepmother Kim Mello for allowing Phil to rest next to his father. Thank you to Chris from the Outreach Program and Stan for informing Kim of the tragic accident, and to the officers and EMT'S on scene of the accident. Thank you to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for caring and praying for Phil. Thank you to the Father Kerper and St Patrick's Church, The DAY Cafe, Pastor Larry Hileman with Heritage Baptist Church, Victory Baptist Church, to Julie Oak and her family, Nashua Soup Kitchen, Nashua House of Pizza, Rise Barber Shop, and Revive Recovery Resource Center, for their roles in Phillip's life as pillars of stability and connections to his community.
Apologies if we have forgotten anyone during this difficult time.
Thank you to Phil's friends that visited him in the hospital and shown their love to Phil and his family as well. A special thank you to Shannon, Kyle, Randy, Brenda G, George, Theresa, China and family. A thank you to my friends Ann, Lisa and Jim. Thank you for the outpouring of phone calls. A special thank you to Brother-in-law Gil and for my sister Brenda for being such an amazing support, showing generosity and kindness to Phil in his last days. Thank you to all the friends and family that were there with Phil as he took his last breath. As difficult as that was, everyone was so loving and supportive. Thank you to family and friends who have expressed their sympathies and support. A special thanks to the Shaw family for their love. A special thank you to my spouse Chris and friend Gary for being there for the funeral arrangements.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Philippians 4:13
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31
PSALM 23
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will
follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord forever.
Phil is now resting in the arms of Jesus. His fond memories will live on in the hearts of those who cared and loved him.

I used to live in a neighborhood where Phil frequently hung out. I had several, in-depth conversations with Phil, just making friends. I have done several wellness checks on Phil just to make sure he was ok. I didn´t know him well, but I do know that he was a genuinely nice guy. Just looking for a friend to talk to. He was a very sweet man. Peace be with you Phil, in Jesus´ name.
