A memorial service honoring the life of Phillip Alfred Robinette, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, at Woodridge Baptist Church, 850 E. Bert Kouns, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Walker. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Marshall, Texas.
Phillip Robinette was born November 13, 1934, in Ringgold, Louisiana to Dewitt and Uralee Conley Robinette and passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Phillip was a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a degree in Agriculture. After many years of devoted service as an accountant, he retired from Martin Mariette in New Orleans. Phillip was an avid LSU fan and enjoyed watching any sport in which LSU was competing. He had a true passion for woodworking and often enjoyed refinishing fine wood furniture. He was currently married to Margaret Pope DeFoy, whom he enjoyed many happy years. Phillip was a devoted husband and loving father who will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kay Taylor; and second wife, Sylvia Skinner.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Pope DeFoy; daughters, Becky Pennington and husband, David, and Rachel Garner; stepdaughters, Holly Willis and Andrea Robinson; grandchildren, Katie Garner Welch and husband, Matt, Matthew Garner, Bryan Pennington and wife, Brianna, Amy Garner Mullen and husband, Eddie, and Phillip Brandon Pennington and wife, Alex; six great-grandchildren, Dillan, Merrick, Noelle, Landen, Finn, and Brodie; sister, Eudora Ebarb and husband, Jim; and brother, Huey Robinette.
