Philip Richard Sanders
Philip Richard Sanders, 72, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, with his wife, Bonnie, by his side. He was born on December 25, 1952, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Philip was the son of the late Arthur "Ott" and Joann Haas Sanders. A lifelong lover of music—especially Motown—Philip enjoyed playing the drums in his youth and could often be found shagging to beach music. He was known by all for his soft-spoken demeanor and gentle nature.
Philip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bonnie; daughter, Jenny (Bill) Harris; grandson, Michael; and siblings, Mike (Karen) Sanders, Paula (Tommy) Queen, and Eric (Leann) Sanders; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Sanders Radford.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Chambers officiating
VISITATION: Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
