Phillip Charles Stevens, born May 14, 1959, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, William (Ed); his sister, Rhonda; his dear mother, Edna; and his brother, Billy.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, with whom he shared more than 45 years of marriage; his son Kenny and Kenny’s wife, Heidi; his son Chip; his daughter-in-law, Leslie; and his beloved grandchildren—whom he adored without measure—Charlee, Liam, Lily, Christopher, and Adora. He is further survived by his uncle James Stevens; Mother-in-law, Dixie Myers and her granddaughter, Madison Collins; and his brother, Curtis.
Phillip was a beloved son, a loving husband, a proud father, and a devoted grandfather. He found immense joy in every moment spent with his family and in service of others. As a reverent follower of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and long-time member of Buford Road Baptist Church, he served selflessly and faithfully on the security team, as a trustee, and as the pitmaster for their yearly barbecue fundraiser. He shared the Lord with any that would listen and led many their path to salvation. Thanks be to God.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road, Hopewell, VA 23860, where he will be laid to rest. Close friends and family will privately celebrate Phillip’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Phillip would have appreciated the gift of your time or a contribution in support of your church or community brothers and sisters.
