Phillip Ward Obituary

Phillip Lee Ward, 76 of Fruitland, MD passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1950 in Crisfield, MD to the late Harvey and Florence Ward.

He attended lower level school in Crisfield and middle school at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA before he made his way back to Crisfield and enlisted in United States Army.

Phill, as he liked to be called, served four years in the Army including service in Vietnam from July 20, 1968 to July 20, 1969.

After an honorable discharge, he went on work as a mechanic and drywall hanger.

Following retirement, he enjoyed sitting on his deck listening to country music, playing cards and watching football. He was a long time loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, now the Washington Commanders.

Phill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marchia Ward, daughter, Tracie Wallace (Jason) of Princess Anne, son, Aaron Ward (Tammy) of Fruitland, three grandchildren, Aaron "AJ" Ward and Evan Ward of Salisbury, MD and Marley Rawlings of Maine, brother Harvey Ward, Jr of Fort Lauderdale, FL, sister Donna Pippin of Quantico, MD, half brother Weldon Ward of Princess Anne, MD along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a half brother, Michael Ward and very special pet dog, Sandie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project via their website, www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate
