William Mezick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Feb. 3, 2026.
"Absent from the body, present with the Lord"

In the early hours of Sunday, February 1, 2026, God in His mercy, allowed William T. "Bicky" Mezick, 78, to join his oldest son, Erik, in heaven. For five long years he graciously endured the ravages of dementia and blindness. He never wavered in his faith in God. His favorite scripture being "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength."

Growing up in Fruitland, MD, he enjoyed many years of baseball and soccer. After graduating from Wicomico High School in 1965 he earned a degree from Goldey-Beacom and the University of Baltimore. He enlisted in the United States Army and served our country proudly. While stationed in Colorado he met Henny and after a 4-week courtship they married. Out of their union God blessed them with three fine sons, Erik, Kevin, and Adam.

Bicky had a successful career being a highly respected and loved parole and probation officer. He cared deeply for every client he supervised, wanting them to be successful, taking them to job interviews or to work if they needed a ride. After retirement, he worked at Wicomico County Detention Center as a pre-trial investigator.

He was a faithful member of the Parkway Church of God, where he taught little children for 25 years that Jesus loves them. He found his greatest joy working on Mustangs with his sons, turning grease stained hands into lasting memories.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wendell and Frances Mezick; son, Erik T. Mezick; and brother, Grady Mezick.

He leaves behind his wife, Henriette (Henny) Mezick; daughter-in-law, Megan Mezick (Dylan, Hannah); son, Kevin Mezick and his wife, Nicole Mezick (Gage, Gavin, Damon); and son, Adam Mezick, and his much-loved cat, Peaches.

Coastal Hospice was a Godsend. Their knowledge and kindness in Bicky's care gave us peace that he was in good hands.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road. Memories may be shared at www.hollowayfh.com.
