Bruce Twilley Trivits, known affectionately as Bruce to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in
Parsonsburg, MD, at the age of 79. Born on December 7, 1946, in
Salisbury, MD, he was a man of deep faith, unwavering optimism and passionate love for his family and country.
Bruce graduated from Wicomico High School in the class of 1964, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a future of service and community involvement. His commitment to his nation was evident through his service in the National Guard Reserve as a Military Police officer, a role that he carried out with dedication and honor.
After his military service, Bruce became a pillar of the Salisbury community as a Lifetime Member of the Salisbury Fire Department. He was the third-generation owner of Trivits Wallcovering, which beautified homes and businesses and built community relationships throughout the Eastern Shore. Bruce's work ethic and integrity were unmatched, and his legacy continues through his son Mike.
A devout Christian, Bruce's love for Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. His faith was evident in his daily actions and the way he treated others - always with kindness, compassion, and a gentle spirit. His life was a testament to the words that best describe him: passionate for the Lord, optimistic, and humorous. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his generous spirit and unwavering love. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bruce's love for the outdoors was immense. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the mountains, where he found peace in the beauty of nature. His enthusiasm for baseball, particularly his favorite team, the New York Yankees, was known to all. Bruce's happiest moments were those spent with his family.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Trivits; his children, Mike Trivits (Helen), Susan Burget (Mike), Lisa Trivits Wagner (Dave), David Trivits (Mandy), and Daniel Trivits (Jennifer); his cherished grandchildren, Sunny Trivits, Olivia Sens (Dustin), Jacob Burget, Gabriel Burget, Noah Wagner, Lily Wagner, Isabelle Trivits, Joel Trivits, Owen
Trivits, Gabriella Trivits, Raelyn Trivits, and Josiah Trivits; and his great-grandchildren Myla and Micah Sens. Bruce also leaves behind his brother, Paul Trivits, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Trivits; his mother, Irma Twilley Trivits; and his brother, Donald Trivits.
Bruce Twilley Trivits's life was a beautiful journey that touched countless lives. His story is one of love, service, and the enduring power of faith. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the profound impact he made on his family, friends, and community. Bruce's burning question he would ask whoever he encountered was, "Do you have Jesus in your heart?" Bruce's spirit will forever be a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
A celebration of life in Bruce's honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9th, 2026 at Delmarva Evangelistic Church, 407 Gordy Road,
Salisbury, MD 21804. A public visitation will take place one hour prior.
