Phillip Masahiro White, 74, of Massillon, passed away with his family by his side, on March 16, 2025.
He was born on January 11, 1951 in Chiba City, Japan.
Phil was a graduate of Timken High School and Lincoln Technical College. He started his work career building bridges for the state and then went to work for Republic Steel and then started working at Timken Company, retiring in 2016. Phil loved to camp, fish, and work meticulously in his yard and flower beds. He was a member of PNA Sportsman Club, and after his retirement he continued his love of camping and fishing in Florida at his second home. Phil had an extensive love and knowledge of military aircraft and he had a collection of model planes, that he proudly displayed at home. It was a tradition to take his family to the Cleveland Air Show every year. He had a love of wine and cooking, but especially he had a passion for Bbq and Smoking Meats. He loved to frequent Mountaineer Casino and would often take family members with him.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Patricia M. (Pelosi) White; daughters, Tracy M. Clark, Kelly CW (James) Collins, and Kim D. (Raymond) Hose; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step-children, Anthony L. Brothers, Angela (Michael) Bryan, and Gina (Ryan) Giavasis; 2 step-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Fabinack, Shirley Tyson, and Ruth McCourry; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamela J. (Parr) White; mother, Shizuko Lamb;step father, John W. Lamb, Sr.; father, Robert L. White; step-mother, Dorothy White; and brothers, Patrick, Tommy, and John.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, Ohio, with a memorial service to start at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Ed Barnes, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
