Phillip Woollard, 76, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, -formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Phillip was born on November 6, 1947, in Independence, Kansas to Elti and Bernice (Daratt) Woollard, Jr. He grew up in Lafontaine, Kansas where he attended school until the 8th grade. He attended schools in Fredonia, Kansas for Junior High and Senior High, graduating with the class of 1965.
Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served overseas in Korea and Germany with the Signal Corps. A mechanical machinist by profession, Phillip was known for his craftsmanship and his dedication to his work with Masthead International.
His adventurous spirit was not confined to a workbench. He loved to travel, exploring the country with his beloved wife, Carol. They enjoyed memorable trips to San Antonio, Texas, Minnesota, South Dakota, the Great Salt Lake and camping in Yellowstone National Park. Always in awe of nature, Phillip found joy in the simple act of feeding the birds and tracking their different species. He loved riding his recumbent trike, tinkering with things, finding innovative ways to make the most of his retirement. He had an abundant love for his family, cherishing every opportunity he had to spend time with them. He and Carol were attending the Yale Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa where they enjoyed service and fellowship.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol, children, Kimberlie Woollard of Austin, Texas, Gina Hunt and husband, Corey of Coffeyville, Kansas, Charlette Peysen of Austin, Texas, Jeannie Woollard of Austin, Texas, Amber Mathis of Deleware, Oklahoma, Jennifer Roberson and husband, Jon of Haslet, Texas, Brian Cowan and wife, Becky of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Dan Woollard and wife, Rose of Missouri, Preston (Sonny) Woollard and wife, Mary of Arizona; sister, Chris Lore and husband, Dennis of Arkansas along with numerous extended family and many friends.
