Phillippe Perez Jr.

Phillippe Perez, Jr., 69, of Baytown, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Phil was born in Baytown on January 7, 1940, to Phillippe Perez, Sr. and Dolores (Hinojosa) Perez. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School, he proudly served in the United States Army as a paramedic. Upon completion of his military service, he worked as a Journeyman welder in various fields. When at home Phil would enjoy spending time reading and talking with family; his passion, though, was supporting the Texas Longhorns and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even during the Oiler heyday of the late 70's, Phil defiantly and proudly wore the black and gold. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother in law Robert Renteria Sr.; he is survived by two sons, Stephen Perez and wife, Laura, of Madison, Wisconsin, and Kevin Perez, of Portland, Oregon; the boys' mother Jiyanna "Peaches" Beltran, brother, Joaquin Perez and wife, Dominga; two sisters, Carolina Renteria and Lupe Molina and husband, Victor Jr. Phil had two granddaughters; Mercedes and Catalina Perez as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Those that knew him will greatly miss his presence.
