Philomena O'Sullivan

Philomena Lou (Cortese) O'Sullivan, a longtime employee of Joe's Music Center in Middletown and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on October 15, 2023 in Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Catizone Cortese, she was born on July 12, 1933 in Middletown, N.Y.
She was the widow of Ronald C. O'Sullivan and longtime companion of the late Edwin (Eddie) Dirr.
She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church in Middletown and the Catholic Daughters of America Court Rosemary 681 in Middletown, N.Y. She also worked as a Poll Worker for many years for the Orange County Board of Elections as she enjoyed serving her community and interacting with the voters. Philomena enjoyed bowling, travel, music, Broadway shows, conversations, and car rides. She especially enjoyed cooking Italian meals and sharing that with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons Dennis (Dru) and Patrick (Teena) O'Sullivan, her sister Annette Carpenter, grandchildren Matthew (Michele), Cory, Dean, Brynn and Emma (Dylan Sweeney) O'Sullivan & Devin Dawson. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren Jillian and Finn O'Sullivan. Philomena is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, as well as many devoted friends and family members.
The family wants to acknowledge those people (family and friends) who were consistent, over many years, in their love, care, support, and encouragement towards Philomena. Her sons are forever grateful for your devotion towards their mom, and they will never forget. The time Philomena spent with her family and friends was so precious to her and her (great) grandchildren were the light of her life. The family also wants to acknowledge the steadfast care mom received from Dr. Robert Dinsmore and the infusion center at Garnet Health Medical Center.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday October 23, 2023 from 2-4 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church in Middletown, N.Y.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
