Philomena Steward

Beloved mother Philomena Steward, age 85, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, peacefully entered into eternal rest at Danbury Hospital. She was born on August 29, 1940 in Moruka Santa Rosa, North West District Guyana and was raised by her grandparents. She then moved to the USA in. 2019 and there she settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut until her passing. Philomena had a great passion for cooking and nature. She was avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her two beloved cats Tommy and Darling (DAR-DAR). Philomena is survived by her 2 daughters, Carol Bunbury and Mary Lewis, grandchildren Tamara and Darian, great grandchildren Jasmin and Joshua and her sister Anna Griffith.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 3pm at Lester Gee Funeral Home, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Family and friends may view at the funeral home at 2p.m. until time of service. Interment will be private.
